Mufti Abdullah Usmani

Mufti Muhammad Abdullah Usmani is an Islamic scholar and finance professional bridging classical Shariah scholarship with modern financial innovation. He holds a Master’s in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence and advanced specialization (Takhassus fi’l‑Ifta) from Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, alongside an M.S. in Finance (Islamic Finance) from IBA Karachi. He is also a Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) from AAOIFI, Bahrain.
Mufti Abdullah teaches Islamic Finance at the Centre for Islamic Economics and Arabic Grammar and Jurisprudence at Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi. As a member of the Darul Ifta, he has issued hundreds of fatwas on economic and social matters. His research focuses on Shariah governance, Islamic fintech, and ethical digital finance. Professionally, he is Executive Director at Usmani & Co. Pvt. Ltd., leading Shariah advisory and product structuring for institutions and fintechs. He has advised on initiatives such as Easypaisa’s conversion into a Digital Islamic Bank and Shariah‑compliant products for Nester UK, Abhi Fintech, Zood Mall, and Imarat.
At Meezan Bank Limited, he manages Shariah Compliance and Product Development in digital banking, ensuring new platforms align with Shariah principles. He previously worked at Faysal Bank Limited, contributing to its transition toward full Islamic compliance. Fluent in Arabic, English, and Urdu, Mufti Abdullah combines deep scholarship with strategic financial insight, advancing ethical banking, digital inclusion, and sustainable Islamic systems.
